Many years ago, a continuous journey to Argentina, which is sometimes called the edge of the world, with its refreshing natural beauty, hot sun, enchanting mountain majesty, sincere people, the chacarera rhythm, the flapping of zamba scarves, the smell of juicy gaucho barbecues and the enchanting tango crowning it all, moved to Lithuania. That’s how the first and only professional tango theater – the Vilnius Tango Theater – was born and brought an impressive tango shows, including “Barrio de Tango” (en. tango district, suburb, place where the tango was born/lives) – which is the work of the creators of the Vilnius Tango Theater, brings us to the famous suburb of Buenos Aires – La Boca – and inviting you to feel the depth of the soul of this wonderful culture. Because tango, like a person, is different. But always, without exception, charming, brave and loving!

“Barrio de Tango” is danced by European tango champions Rūta Keller and Alexis Gonzalez, Vilnius tango theater dancers Ieva Eisimantė and Emmanuel Riquelme, Veronica Gabriela Luna, pianist Eglė Kasteckaitė/Ugnė Kaušiūtė and singer Egidija Mačiulytė/Patricija Luščynska.
